Disposition:

Protective - Probably one of the most important traits for Euntae, his motivation for most of everything he does stems from a need to protect those he cares about. Whether it was making the decision to willingly become a vampire to save his little sister, effectively condemning himself to a timeline of five more years until his death; to finding Hayan to team up with her in order to rid the world of the vampires terrorizing it. It’s through that sense of wanting to change things for the better that he has a strong desire to protect those around him and will do whatever it takes to ensure their happiness. It’s also part of why he decided to become a police officer in the first place.

This also has some negative consequences, such as not telling people important information out of an obligation to not make them worry about him or his own assumption that it will “keep them safe”. That negative aspect is part of why his relationship with Haeun (his little sister) was strained as it was up until recently - he didn’t want to tell the full truth of the situation that happened to him nearly five years ago involving their parents and his own turning in order to keep her safe, which backfired spectacularly.

Observant - The prime trait of his that helps with his job as a detective, Euntae is amazingly perceptive - and quick-thinking, to boot. This allows him to make split-second decisions that have helped save both him and Hayan in a few situations, especially when the two have had to go undercover in their search for the Angels of Death. He’s able to pick apart patterns and habits of others to understand them better, which especially has helped him in his investigations. After all, it’s his perceptiveness that allowed him to not only locate Hayan when he was looking for her, but also discern the best way to infiltrate when trying to investigate recent kidnappings of couples by Mammon in order to gain inside access to the supposed “vampire vaccine”.

Quirky/Unpredictable - Euntae has a strange fascination with doing things in certain ways, a prime example being his infamous “morning routine” that he does in one of the early chapters. He generally feels the need to be like this as a means of being unpredictable and therefore hard to read. Though how much of it is that explanation or how much is just how he is as a person is up for debate. Keeping a mental advantage over his adversaries is absolutely one of Euntae’s main M.Os, especially when he’s dealing with opponents who are clearly stronger than he is. It was through his unpredictable nature coupled with his observation skills that allowed him to gain entrance to the abandoned church where his turned parents and their sire were hiding out and trick them into giving him more information about what they were really doing there, by pretending that he wanted to be turned as well.

Confident - Euntae for the most part likes to keep a fairly strong facade of confidence, almost to the point of cockiness in some cases. He plays up his abilities a lot of the time, avoiding direct answers about his skills by way of deflection. He can be surprisingly secretive about things, which lends to his unpredictable nature. He usually understands his limits, but there are times when he ends up charging recklessly ahead, such as if he’s caught off-guard and can’t think of another solution fast enough.



Suitability: He may be internally screaming, but on the outside, Euntae will probably do his best to keep calm despite the sudden shift in setting. It may take him some time to process everything that’s going on and how Synchrony is concerned, but he’ll take to it fairly easily to a certain degree. He can be surprisingly affectionate when he wants to be. At this point in canon, he hasn’t fully realized his feelings for Hayan, which would make him more receptive to intimacy with others. He’s supposedly had other sexual partners before, but whether or not he’s being serious about that is up for debate.

Strong vampires in the version of Earth that Euntae comes from can have unique abilities, such as telepathy, shapeshifting, hypnosis, pyrokinesis, and obviously enhanced strength, speed and regeneration - so the Gembonded abilities for the most part won’t phase him. More subtle body transformations wouldn’t be all that surprising, as he does already do some minor shifting when he ends up actually using his powers as a vampire. The more outrageous transformations may take some time to get used to - along with what they all entail. However, Euntae is nothing if not incredibly stubborn, especially when he has a goal in mind.

Once the initial shock wears off and he understands that his “timer” has essentially been either reset or stopped for the time being, he’ll be more than willing to help the other Gembonded in unravelling the mysteries of this new world - he’s a detective, after all, and the better he understands the situation, the better off he’ll be in the long run, so to speak.

Condition upon arrival: Technically dying; as in the world of Unholy Blood, all vampires except for those that are considered pure-blood (born) or those given the blood of a pure-blood vampire are doomed to die after five years due to their mixed-blood state. Euntae himself is coming up on his own five-year timer, as within canon, he’s about a couple weeks away from dying.

I’ll be treating it as if it were a terminal illness - and have it be slowed down rather than outright cured.

Abilities: Vampiric constitution: At a baseline, the mixed-blood vampires of Unholy Blood have enhanced strength, agility, and regeneration capabilities; and unlike most canons, can actually walk around in daylight and not end up being completely vaporized. However, their powers generally are stronger at night, which lends itself to them being nocturnal hunters like traditional vamps.

Detective skills: Euntae was the top of his class in the Academy, and boasts an 80% arrest/capture rate during his time in the Vampire Task Force. Not only is he athletic (boosted by his vampiric nature), but he’s also smart and incredibly perceptive. He’s also a bit of a charmer, and comes off as fairly affable, which helps him in extracting information.

Inventory: Wallet (containing both his Drivers’ License as well as his Police ID), Sidearm (standard pistol, fully loaded with 8mm bullets), handcuffs

Gem Location: Right between the shoulder blades in a hollowed circle shape that looks like a crystalized crown of thorns (referencing the limiter that Hayan uses).
